Jocelyn Pacheco wins the first race in 21 months on the Pierce Course taking the girls Varsity race at the West Valley Preview meet on August 19th, 2021.
9th grader Meztli Velasquez had the fastest freshman time placing 5th in the girls varsity race with a time of 21:14.4.
Leta Squier continues to be ECR’s top runner in her 1st outing on the Pierce Course. Leta finished in 9th place.

BOYS VARSITY - Granada Hills Dominates

West Valley Preview - Boys Results
Granada’s boys continued the school’s winning streak for the day taking the team title in all three races and giving Granada a perfect 6-win meet record. In the boys varsity race three runners quickly took control, Austin Ledgerwood (ECR), Juan Alcala (GH) and James Lopez (Cleveland). On the 2nd pass through the ‘switchbacks’ James Lopez surged ahead, churning out negative splits at both 2 and 2.87 miles AND running the fastest final .87 miles on the day to win the race in convincing style. Ledgerwood took 2nd and Max Liberman (ECR) finished strong in 3rd. Juan Alcala was the front-runner for Granada, taking 4th with a course PR of 17:33.3. Harrison Nguyen (Cleveland) took 2 1/2 minutes off his previous course PR to place 5th in 17:35.0. Mateo Glass (ECR) was the fastest 10th grader on the day with a 6th place finish in 17:51.5.
